DRY WATER
Walking at night under watering lights. This project is an order by the Light Festival Lyon 2000. Installed on a bridge pedestrians “dry water” gives the people walking by an experience of crossing on a dark river and on a road with watering lights.
This is accomplished with a row of lights mounted on a board on top of the bridge. There are sounds of running water. Between the lights and the sound we have an atmosphere of dark suspense.
La nuit, marcher sur l’eau-lumière. Installé sur une passerelle piétonne, « sèchement mouillé » propose aux passants l’expérience d’une traversée au-dessus de l’eau sombre du fleuve par un chemin d’eau-lumière. Celui-ci est donné par une rangée d’écrans surmontée d’un caillebotis. Le son évoque les intempéries liés au cycle de l’eau.
Lumière et bruit se découvrent de manière attentive et ludique mais aussi avec une certaine crainte.
